About the Trust

Charitable Purpose

The Geoffrey Evans Trust is specifically established to serve as a financial catalyst to support and inspire Australian Youth to undertake maritime pursuits.

Guiding Principles

The Geoffrey Evans Trust (the Trust) honours the following guiding principles:

• The Trust may support an organisation, an institution or an individual (Applicants).

• Applicants will be from within the Commonwealth of Australia and its Territories.

• Applicants will have as their objective, the encouragement, promotion or/and education of young people on the importance of Australia’s maritime environment.

• Applicants will aim to foster an interest in the sea and maritime affairs, and ultimately, in the country’s well-being.

• The principles of good citizenship will underlie any proposal.

• Distributions made by the Trust may be divided between several or one applicant, in equal or unequal shares. Further distributions are not fixed (permanent) and will vary from time to time.
